2016 March 4th - Self Esteem Boost for Young People at Aldwyck

Aldwyck Housing Group is providing a self esteem boost to their young residents and the local community as part of a new AQA learning scheme.

The course is being introduced after a survey was completed by young people who asked for support with low self confidence issues.

A recent report by children’s charity ChildLine stated that 35,244 of the counselling sessions held in 2014/15 were related to low self-esteem and unhappiness. This was an increase of 9% on the previous year.

As part of the Aldwyck programme, young people will receive an AQA qualification in ‘Building confidence and self esteem’ which is designed to help improve self esteem by learning what self esteem means and how to make positive changes.

The weekly sessions will take place every Friday and includes creating a canvas or poster which is designed to help other young people who are in a similar situation overcome their own issues with confidence.

The first session of the 13 week programme begins on 4 March at Sandringham Drive in Houghton Regis from 5:30pm for ages 7 to 13.

For more information on the sessions, please contact Rhys Evans on rhys.evans@aldwyck.co.uk.
