2015 November : North Chilterns Chalk Living Landscape Volunteer Tasks

Volunteers are wanted to help maintain a number of local wildlife sites. The volunteer tasks are a great way for anyone wanting to engage more with the great outdoors, and make new friends.
All tasks start at 10am and finish between 3 - 4pm, but you may leave earlier. Tools and equipment are provided, though steel-toe-capped boots and a strong pair of gardening gloves or similar are strongly recommended.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided, but please bring your own lunch and cold drinks. To join in, you are asked to contact the appropriate member of the Wildlife Trust team.

2015 November 18th : Women in the Driving Seat - An Invitation to a Car Confidence and Self Protection Evening

I would like to invite you to 'Women in the Driving Seat', a free community-based car confidence and self protection evening. The event is hosted by Thurlow Nunn
at 174-188 High Street South, Dunstable, Beds. LU6 3HS, at 6.30 for a 7pm start on Wednesday 18th November. You are most welcome to bring colleagues, friends or a partner with you.

The evening will include a seminar on safer driving, coping with road-side emergencies and how to deal with 'road rage' and aggressive driving behaviour in others. There is also a 'weekend workshop' module during the evening when visitors can learn how to carry out routine maintenance on their own car, including changing a wheel in safety using the jack and tools found in the boot. Lastly, there is practical role-play tuition on personal awareness & self protection by martial arts specialist Andy Williams.

Everyone is welcome, including men and young learner drivers, and you don't have to be a customer to attend. Please forward this invitation to your friends, colleagues, relatives and anybody else that you feel would like to come.

Women in the Driving Seat is supported by the Institute of Advanced Motorists and the Foxy Lady Drivers Club, both of which will be attending. The whole event lasts approximately 2 hours and is scheduled to finish at around 9pm.

The event is not sales orientated, is completely free of charge and refreshments are also provided. If you wish to attend please e-mail:

maralyn.gorringe@ntlworld.com or telephone me on 01992 503129. Please be sure to mention 'Thurlow Nunn' or the date of this event in your reply.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Best wishes,

For and on behalf of Thurlow Nunn, Dunstable
